Dubai - the contradiction of the postmodern Middle East.
One of the most comprehensive tourist overview articles about Dubai, from the September 2006 issue of Travel+Leisure magazine.
It's like another world—not the Arab world and not the Western world. The sheer amount of material, money, and labor that is gathered here is both menacing and exciting. It's the first place I've heard the word architecting used like lawyering, a noun becoming a verb. The scale and volume of construction dwarfs humanity—looking up at the rising skyline from any given intersection, you feel a rush of sci-fi vertigo.

Aside, for non thought provoking articles like this, that I have to read, I'm using spreeder to wizz through them. It could just change my life.

Just clicked onto spreeder and tried it, but found "it-was-like-listening-to-a-robot". Also I think I can scan quicker than it can. Maybe you just need a speed reading course :) However I agree that there's just too much stuff to read these days. The internet is a blessing and a curse in this respect.
Hmm, I liked it. You can increase the speed. Most stuff I scan on its own, but random stuff like this, I find that this spreeder could be good. The key phrases get embedded, and you're not tempted to go back.
spreeder is good, but like trailing said, it doesn't take full stops or end of paragraphs into account... after a while, you will feel like 'Max Headroom'
Never the less, i will use spreeder.. HOW DO YOU FIND THESE THINGS ? :) :)
I am a nerd and information freak. It's a dangerous conbination.
